Senior Attorney - Long Term Care Planning Department
The Long-Term Care Planning Attorney serves as a senior legal and strategic leader within the firm, guiding individuals and families through complex long-term care, Medicaid, and asset-protection planning. This role combines direct client advocacy with departmental leadership, ensuring each client receives thoughtful, ethical, and effective legal solutions tailored to their unique circumstances. The attorney oversees the Long-Term Care Planning team, collaborates closely with planners and care coordinators, and provides legal oversight on planning strategies and documentation. The ideal candidate is a compassionate, solutions-oriented professional with deep expertise in elder law and a strong commitment to mentorship, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Department Leadership:
• Provide strategic direction and oversight to the Long-Term Care Planning team, including planners, care coordinators, paralegals, and legal assistants.
• Ensure departmental alignment with firm values of Quality, Service, Integrity, and Empathy.
Client Engagement:
• Conduct consultations and ongoing meetings with clients and families.
• Develop and implement comprehensive care and Medicaid planning strategies.
• Serve as a trusted advisor and resolve client concerns professionally.
Legal Oversight:
• Review and approve legal documents including Powers of Attorney, Wills, Trusts, and Irrevocable Trusts.
• Supervise benefit entitlement applications and manage appeals as needed.
Team Collaboration & Process Improvement:
• Mentor staff and ensure accuracy in all client files.
• Collaborate with planners and professionals to deliver holistic solutions.
• Recommend and implement process improvements.
Qualifications
• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Pennsylvania.
• Minimum of three years of experience in elder law, estate planning, or long-term care planning.
• Proven leadership experience.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and technology skills.
